Centre Manager for Oakleigh South service

Bright Cubs Academy is a newly opened 92-place early learning centre in Oakleigh South, and we are seeking an experienced and passionate Centre Director to lead our growing service.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strong early childhood leader who wants to do more than simply manage an established centre. You will have the opportunity to shape the culture, build a high-performing team, establish strong relationships with families and the local community, and grow the service alongside our management team.
About the role
As Centre Director, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and operation of Bright Cubs Academy, with support from management and our leadership team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the day-to-day operation of the 92-place service
- Building, mentoring and retaining a positive and professional educator team
- Creating a warm and welcoming experience for children and families
- Managing new family enquiries, tours, orientations and enrolments
- Supporting the centre's occupancy growth and community engagement
- Ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework, National Regulations and service policies
- Leading the centre's Quality Improvement Plan and continuous improvement
- Supporting high-quality educational programs and practice
- Managing staffing, rosters, ratios and day-to-day operational requirements
- Supporting educators through induction, mentoring and performance development
- Building strong relationships with families, local schools and the wider community
- Working collaboratively with management on the ongoing growth and development of Bright Cubs Academy
About you
We are looking for a Centre Director who combines strong operational knowledge with genuine warmth and leadership.
You will ideally have:
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or an ACECQA-approved equivalent/higher qualification
- Previous Centre Director or Assistant Director/2IC experience in an early childhood service
- Strong knowledge of the NQF, National Regulations, EYLF and compliance requirements
- Experience leading and developing an early childhood team
- Confidence managing family enquiries, tours and enrolments
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Good understanding of occupancy, staffing and centre operations
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications as required
- A genuine commitment to quality early childhood education and care
