Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred support to a participant.The role focuses on building routine, structure, independence, and meaningful engagement in daily life.
The successful candidate will demonstrate patience, emotional regulation, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support with daily personal activities, including assistance with personal care as required
- Support the participant to follow structured routines and maintain consistency
- Assist with daily living tasks, such as household activities and community access
- Research, plan, and engage the participant in new leisure and recreational activities aligned with their interests
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice at all times
- Assist the participant to safely access the community and attend appointments or activities
- Maintain clear communication with the participant, family, and service provider
- Complete progress notes and documentation in line with NDIS requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Ability to provide consistent, calm, and structured support
- Strong problem-solving and observational skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills and fluent English
- Ability to work independently and follow behaviour support strategies
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must have the following current documentation:
- Certificate III (or higher) in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Police Check
- First Aid and CPR certification
- COVID-19 vaccination
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle
- Ability to speak and understand fluent English
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $28.00 – $38.00 per hour
