The Watering Hole Tavern Monbulk is a community-focused pub in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges. We pride ourselves on delivering quality food, genuine hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere for both locals and visitors.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Casual Chef / Cook to join our kitchen team, with the opportunity to transition into a Full-Time position for the right candidate.
About the Role
This is a hands-on kitchen role where you'll be responsible for preparing and cooking quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of our kitchen.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working as part of a team, and can perform efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals to a consistently high standard
- Ensure food is presented and served in line with venue standards
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen
- Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures
- Assist with stock rotation, stock control, and minimising waste
- Work effectively during busy service periods
- Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive workplace culture
- Assist with menu execution and daily kitchen operations
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a commercial kitchen
- A strong work ethic and reliable attendance record
- The ability to work calmly under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Sound knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
- Availability to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
