About the role
In this role, you will be immersed in a high-volume tertiary Maternal Fetal Medicine service, working alongside experienced specialists to deliver comprehensive prenatal care across a diverse and complex patient cohort. You will contribute to the assessment and management of high-risk pregnancies, participate in multidisciplinary care planning, and support advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The position offers a strong blend of clinical exposure, teaching, and research, enabling you to develop your expertise while contributing to continuous service improvement and innovation.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Equitable coverage of the obstetrics after-hours roster (not night duty) in concordance with the clinical capability framework of the department and with the Medical Officers Certified Agreement.
If the successful applicant has FRANZCOG registration, then they will be provided with an additional casual obstetric position for the duration of the contract, to assist with with the obstetric consultant after-hours call.
The position incumbent will demonstrate sustained meritorious achievement in the areas of clinical excellence, major teaching initiatives and responsibilities and a significant level of contribution of fostering and promoting high standards in the provision of public health services.
The primary accountabilities are to patients, to provide medical services in accordance with the standards of the discipline and the ethics of the profession.
Ability to work as a team member, including demonstrated effective communication skills, and facilitation of effective team functioning.
