Environmental Management Consultant

Fyfe is a leading Australian consultancy delivering engineering, environmental, planning and surveying services across the Energy & Resources, Renewables, Infrastructure and Property sectors.
As demand for sustainable infrastructure continues to grow, we are seeking an Environmental Management Consultant to join our Environmental team on a 24-month fixed-term contract. This role can be based in either Brisbane or Townsville and offers the opportunity to work on some of Australia's most significant renewable energy, transport and infrastructure projects.
The Opportunity
Working within a collaborative national team, you will support the delivery of environmental management and compliance services throughout the construction and operational phases of major projects.
This is a hands-on role combining office-based project delivery with fieldwork and site inspections. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, regulators and clients to ensure environmental obligations are met while supporting successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Construction environmental compliance and auditing

Preparation and implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs)

Development of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs)
-
Preparation of SSEMPs, ESCPs and EMP-related documentation
-
Environmental monitoring and field-based project delivery
-
Contaminated land investigations and management
-
Site inspections and compliance assessments
-
Preparation of monitoring reports and environmental assessments
-
Participation in project environmental management meetings
-
Client and stakeholder engagement throughout project delivery

Supporting environmental approvals and post-approval management requirements
About You
You will be an environmental professional who enjoys working across diverse projects and balancing technical reporting with practical field-based work.
Ideally, you will have:

A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline

Experience in environmental compliance, monitoring, auditing or environmental management within construction, infrastructure, resources or renewable energy projects

Strong report writing and communication skills

Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and compliance frameworks

Experience preparing environmental management documentation and monitoring reports

GIS experience (highly regarded)

Construction White Card
-
IECA Advanced Erosion and Sediment Control Training (advantageous but not essential)

A willingness to undertake site work and occasional travel as required
