We are currently seeking an experienced Safety Training Partner to join our team at the Laverton Processing Facility operation. Reporting to the Group Health & Safety Manager and working an 8/6 roster, this is a great opportunity to play a key role in providing frontline construction safety leadership, emergency response capability and workforce support for the Laverton Mill Construction Project.
As the Safety Training Partner, your key responsibilities will include:
- Promote a positive, proactive and accountable safety culture across the Project.
- Support compliance with WHS legislation, mining legislation, site standards, Project requirements and company procedures.
- Support implementation and compliance with the Project Construction Safety Management Plan and Principal Contractor requirements
- Provide practical safety advice and coaching to supervisors, workers and contractors
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox meetings, pre-start meetings and risk reviews
- Support the SSE in meeting statutory safety obligations
- Exercise and support Stop Work Authority where unsafe conditions, behaviours or uncontrolled risks are identified
- Promote workforce engagement in hazard identification, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives
Provide emergency response capability across the Laverton Mill Construction Project
- Respond to medical emergencies, incidents and site emergency events.
- Facilitate emergency response exercises, simulations and drills.
- Support the development, review and testing of emergency response plans and procedures
About You
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum)
- Current C Class Driver's Licence
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Certificate III Mines Rescue
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- HLT51020 Diploma of Emergency Health Care or HLT41120 Certificate IV in Health Care (minimum requirement)
- Demonstrated experience in construction project safety, mining construction, heavy industrial or resources sector projects
- Experience conducting workplace inspections, audits, incident investigations and risk assessment
