The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).

We are seeking a passionate and compassionate clinician to join our Sexual Assault Service in a role that is both deeply meaningful and professionally rewarding. This is temporary position with the possibility of extension, we welcome part-time, full-time and job share applications.
As a Sexual Assault Counsellor, you will provide specialist therapeutic support to children, young people, adults and their families following experiences of sexual assault. Your work will include crisis response, ongoing counselling, advocacy, assessment, case management, community engagement and education. It is a female-identified role and will also contribute to our 24/7 crisis counselling roster, ensuring support is available when it is needed most.
You will join a highly skilled, welcoming and values-driven trauma counselling team that is committed to supporting both the people we work with and one another. We understand the importance of looking after our clinicians and provide extensive professional support, including clinical supervision, cultural supervision, peer consultation, professional development opportunities and ongoing learning.
