A Building Maintenance Officer is responsible for keeping buildings, facilities, and equipment in good working condition to ensure they are safe, functional, and well maintained.
Typical duties include:
Inspecting buildings and identifying repair needs.
Carrying out minor repairs such as carpentry, painting, plastering, and basic plumbing.
Performing routine maintenance on doors, windows, locks, lighting, and fixtures.
Coordinating contractors for specialist work (electrical, HVAC, roofing, etc.).
Maintaining maintenance records and work schedules.
Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
Responding to emergency maintenance requests.
Skills and qualifications:
Experience in building maintenance or a trade (carpentry, plumbing, painting, or similar).
Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
Good problem-solving and communication skills.
A valid driver's licence is often required.
Pay: $6,300.00 – $6,700.00 per month
