The Huon Valley Council operates three vibrant childcare centres, in Huonville, Dover and Geeveston, along with our Outside School Hours Care and Vacation Care programs, where fun meets learning! As the Outside School Hours Care Team Leader, you will lead the day-to-day coordination of Council’s Outside School Hours Care and Vacation Care programs, ensuring a safe, engaging environment for local children and families. You will:
- Coordinate all aspects of the Outside School Hours Care, including Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care staff and programs with the opportunity to work across all services
- Supervise and lead a small team of staff including coordinate all aspects of the operations of Huon Valley Council Children’s Services Outside School Hours Care
- Develop and implement quality programs in line with My Time Our Place and the Early Years Learning Framework
- Liaise with parents and families as the first point of contact for day-to-day issues
- Maintain documentation systems to meet National Quality Standards and take an active role in the NQF Assessment and Rating process
You will bring:
- A Diploma or Bachelor Degree in a relevant field and/or extensive demonstrated experience in a comparable role
- Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of early childhood programming, including planning for 0–12-year-olds and the National Quality Framework
- Leadership and communication skills, including the ability to lead and manage a small team
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to set priorities, plan effectively and meet deadlines
- Current Working with Vulnerable People card, Australian National Police Check, First Aid Certificate, CPR, Emergency Asthma Management and Anaphylaxis, Nation Child Safety Training and a current drivers licence (or the ability to obtain)
