MUST HAVE PREVIOUS DATA CENTRE EXPERIENCE
NOW Energy is seeking experienced Smart Hands Technicians to join a major Data Centre installation project at Artarmon.
This is not an entry-level role. We are only looking for candidates who have previously worked in a live Data Centre environment and understand the high standards, procedures and attention to detail required on mission-critical projects.
The Project
- Location: Artarmon, Sydney
- Start: Friday 7 August 2026
- Duration: 8–10 weeks
- Hours: Monday to Friday
- 7:00am starts
- 8–10 hours per day
- $50 Flat rate per hour
- 60-minute unpaid meal break
- All tools supplied by the client.
About the Role Working as part of a professional Smart Hands team, you'll assist with the preparation and installation of structured cabling infrastructure, rack hardware and associated logistics within a mission-critical Data Centre.
Duties include
- Assemble Panduit fibre patch panels
- Install MPO/LC cassettes, fibre adapter plates and cable managers
- Apply fibre and copper cable identification labels
- Rack and stack servers and network equipment
- Use server lifts and material handling equipment
- Receive, unpack and organise deliveries
- Inventory control and pallet breakdown
- Material staging and rack preparation
- Maintain clean, organised work areas while following strict Data Centre and cleanroom protocols.
Essential Requirements Previous Data Centre experience is mandatory. Applications without Data Centre experience will not be considered.
You must have:
- Proven Smart Hands experience within a Data Centre
- Experience with rack & stack activities
- Experience assembling fibre patch panels and structured cabling hardware
- Strong understanding of fibre and copper infrastructure
- Experience using server lifts and material handling equipment
- White Card
- Police Check completed within the last 12 months
- Full PPE (hard hat, hi-vis, steel cap boots)
- Ability to safely perform manual handling and team lifts.
Highly Regarded
- Experience with Panduit structured cabling products
- Experience with MPO/LC cassette installation
- Previous NextDC, Equinix, CDC, AirTrunk or similar Data Centre experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within strict quality standards.
