Parwan Protein & Tallow Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Chemical Plant Operator to join our rendering and processing operations.
This is a full-time position suited to a candidate with practical experience operating industrial processing equipment, monitoring plant performance and maintaining safe and efficient production processes.

Key duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Operating and controlling continuous and batch rendering processes.
- Operating plant equipment, including cookers, presses, decanters, polishers, hydrolysers, meal-processing systems and blood-processing systems.
- Monitoring plant performance through SCADA and PLC control systems.
- Monitoring production conditions, including temperature, pressure, flow rates, discharge conditions and material separation.
- Adjusting process parameters and equipment controls to maintain stable, safe and efficient plant operations.
- Monitoring decanter and polisher processes to ensure effective separation of water, solids and tallow.
- Controlling the intake and processing of raw materials.
- Monitoring the transfer, handling and load-out of meal, tallow and other rendered products.
- Inspecting plant equipment for blockages, abnormal operating conditions, faults or malfunctions.
- Taking appropriate corrective action and reporting equipment issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
- Recording production quantities, intake data, temperature readings, equipment conditions and other process-related information.
- Participating in plant start-up, shutdown and production-change procedures.
- Performing routine operational checks and minor process-related maintenance within the employee’s level of competency and authority.
- Operating a forklift and other machinery when required to support plant operations.
- Supporting wastewater-processing activities, including polymer top-up, sludge-bin changes and wastewater-area monitoring.
- Carrying out cleaning, washdown and housekeeping duties to maintain hygiene and workplace safety standards.
- Complying with workplace health and safety, environmental, hygiene and company operating procedures.
- Working collaboratively with supervisors, senior operators, maintenance staff and production employees.
Skills and experience
Applicants must have:
- At least 1 year of relevant experience as a chemical plant operator, rendering plant operator, process plant operator or in a comparable industrial-processing role.
- Experience operating and monitoring industrial production or processing equipment.
- The ability to understand plant readings, process conditions and operating procedures.
- The ability to identify equipment faults, blockages and abnormal process conditions.
- Strong workplace health and safety awareness.
- Good record-keeping and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- The physical capacity to work in an industrial plant environment and perform operational duties safely.
Pay: $79,500.00 – $79,501.00 per year
