Floor Coordinator

The Floor Coordinator will demonstrate strong clinical knowledge, leadership, capability, and the ability to coordinate theatre operations in a fast-paced environment. This role plays a key role in ensuring efficient theatre flow, safe patient care and effective communication across multidisciplinary teams.

Coordinate the daily operations of the operating theatre floor to ensure safe, efficient and effective patient care delivery.

Facilitate theatre workflow, patient flow, staffing allocation and resource utilisation to support operational excellence.

Provide clinical leadership, support and guidance to Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Graduates and Students.

Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in accordance with ACORN, NSQHS, Healthscope policies and relevant legislative requirements.

Promote a culture of patient safety, clinical excellence and continuous quality improvement.

Support theatre teams through education, coaching, mentoring and contemporary evidence-based perioperative practice.

Foster collaborative relationships with surgeons, anaesthetists and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Participate in audits, accreditation activities and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.

Provide exceptional customer service and promote a positive patient, surgeon and team experience.

Maintain clinical knowledge, professional standards and contribute to the ongoing improvement of perioperative services.

Current AHPRA registration with no restrictions or conditions.

Minimum 3 years’ post-registration perioperative nursing experience.

Advanced clinical competence and contemporary knowledge of perioperative nursing practice.

Knowledge of ACORN standards, NSQHS standards and evidence-based nursing practice.

Demonstrated clinical leadership skills, including the ability to educate, coach and mentor team members.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.

Strong commitment to patient safety, quality care and exceptional customer service.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
