Are you an experienced manufacturing leader looking to take ownership of a well-established production facility and drive operational performance, safety and continuous improvement?
We are seeking a Plant Manager to lead all aspects of a manufacturing operation located within easy commuting distance of Tamworth. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, improving operational efficiency and delivering strong business outcomes.
While experience within FMCG manufacturing will be highly regarded, we are also interested in candidates from broader manufacturing environments including food processing, packaging, building products, feed milling, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, plastics, timber, industrial manufacturing and other process-driven industries.
The Opportunity Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the site, ensuring safety, quality, productivity and cost targets are consistently achieved.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing production, maintenance and support teams
- Driving a strong safety-first culture across the site
- Managing manufacturing performance against operational KPIs
- Implementing continuous improvement initiatives across people, process and equipment
- Optimising labour, production efficiency and operational costs
- Working closely with maintenance to maximise plant reliability and uptime
- Ensuring compliance with quality, food safety and regulatory requirements
- Supporting capital projects and site improvement initiatives
- Building a high-performance culture focused on accountability and results
About You To be successful, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Site Manager position
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to engage and develop teams
- Experience managing manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment
- A track record of improving productivity, efficiency and operational performance
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of manufacturing KPIs
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Continuous improvement experience, ideally Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies
