About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing and delivering competitive tenders across a diverse portfolio of major civil infrastructure projects.
Working closely with engineering, construction and commercial teams, you will prepare first-principles estimates, develop innovative tender methodologies, manage tender submissions and provide leadership and mentoring to junior estimating team members throughout the tender process.
Your Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Minimum five years' experience in a senior estimating or tendering role within the civil construction industry.
- Demonstrated experience preparing competitive first-principles estimates for major infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of tender strategy, construction methodologies and project risk.
- Proven ability to prepare and coordinate complex tender submissions.
- Excellent commercial awareness and analytical capability.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior estimators and support staff.
- Strong alignment with Georgiou's values of Care, Integrity and Excellence.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare, analyse and coordinate competitive tender submissions.
- Develop estimating methodologies, construction programmes and pricing strategies.
- Prepare budget estimates and tender reviews.
- Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Manage tender close-out activities in accordance with Georgiou systems and procedures.
- Lead tender handovers, clearly communicating project scope, risks and opportunities.
- Liaise with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders throughout the tender process.
- Mentor and coach Assistant Estimators, Student Engineers and Tender Administrators.
- Maintain pricing databases and tender libraries while driving continuous improvement across estimating practices.
