We're seeking a P&C Payroll Officer to join our Shared Services team and play a critical role in delivering professional, high-quality payroll services to more than 6,000 employees across the University. About the Role
As a P&C Payroll Officer, you'll provide end-to-end payroll services across the employee lifecycle, ensuring payroll transactions are processed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with enterprise agreements, legislation and University policies.
Working within a high-performing Shared Services environment, you'll contribute to the delivery of a reliable and customer-focused payroll service while supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, compliance and employee experience.
What You'll Be Doing
- Processing end-to-end payroll transactions with accuracy and efficiency
- Maintaining workforce data integrity within aPay and related systems
- Providing consistent payroll advice aligned with enterprise agreements, policies and legislation
- Delivering services within established service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Identifying and escalating payroll risks, errors or compliance issues in a timely manner
- Supporting process improvement and automation initiatives
Collaborating with colleagues across Payroll, P&C Operations, Finance, Faculties, Portfolios and other business areas to deliver seamless services

What You'll Bring
- We are looking for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a high-volume operational environment and is committed to delivering exceptional service.
- Demonstrated experience in high-volume payroll processing and employee lifecycle administration.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, enterprise agreements, policies and procedures, with the ability to apply complex employment provisions accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify and resolve payroll issues and risks.
- Strong customer service, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience using payroll and HR systems such as Oracle HCM, aPay or similar platforms.
