Kindastar Early Learning Centre – Artarmon
Kindastar Artarmon is looking for a passionate and experienced Preschool Room Leader to join our growing team.
We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic educator who is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for children and building a positive, supportive environment for both children and educators.
As our Preschool Room Leader, you will take the lead in creating a nurturing, engaging and play-based preschool program that encourages children to explore, develop confidence and build a strong foundation for their transition to school.
About the Role
As the Preschool Room Leader, you will:
- Lead and support the preschool room team to provide high-quality education and care.
- Plan and implement engaging, play-based learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Observe, document and assess children's learning, development and individual interests.
- Develop meaningful learning goals and experiences based on children's strengths and needs.
- Mentor and support Diploma- and Certificate III-qualified educators within the room.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
- Support the service in meeting the requirements of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standards.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding their child's learning, development and wellbeing.
- Contribute to the service's Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and continuous improvement practices.
- Use the OWNA platform for programming, observations, documentation and communication with families.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- At least 2 years of experience working in early childhood education, preferably with preschool-aged children.
- Previous experience as a Room Leader, Lead Educator or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge and practical understanding of the EYLF, NQF and National Quality Standards.
- Confidence in leading, supporting and mentoring other educators.
- Strong communication, organisational and time-management skills.
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and children's learning and development.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
- Relevant police/background checks as required.
Desirable
- Experience mentoring and developing junior educators.
- Previous experience using OWNA or other digital programming and learning portfolio platforms.
- Strong understanding of school-readiness and transition-to-school programs.
- Ability to build warm and professional relationships with families.
