Primary objective
Provide strategic leadership in the implementation of the newly developed Rehabilitation and Reintegration Framework by
overseeing project planning, coordination, and execution. The role is responsible for guiding a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely
delivery of project milestones, alignment with departmental priorities, and effective stakeholder engagement.
Context statement
The Rehabilitation and Reintegration Framework provides a strategic, evidence-informed approach to reducing recidivism and
supporting successful transitions from custody to community. It aligns with the NT Department of Corrections Strategic Plan
2024–2028 and prioritises evidenced-based rehabilitation and culturally informed programs.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Develop project and implementation plans as outlined in the Rehabilitation and Reintegration Framework and Implementation
Strategy and organise, monitor and track any work and tasks to deliver on these projects.
2. Develop and monitor business plans and contracts as directed completed in accordance with Northern Territory Government
Procurement Framework.
3. Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to drive the implementation of the Framework forward and ensure objectives
and timelines are clearly understood and adhered to.
4. Provide as requested, high level written reports, other documents and correspondence to senior executives and the Minister.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Recent strong proven project management skills with the ability to develop, implement, coordinate, monitor and report, project
plans, controls and associated project governance structures.
2. Demonstrated project team leadership, management, negotiation and change management skills of complex socially and
politically sensitive projects or programs.
3. High level written and oral communications skills including an ability to engage and influence with a diverse audience of internal
and external stakeholders and prepare a range of correspondence, including reports, briefs and comms, to communicate issues
and change messaging succinctly and effectively.
4. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage contracts within Northern Territory Government Procurement Framework or
similar.
5. Ability to lead and manage a small project team including supervision and human resource management.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or related field.
2. Knowledge and understanding rehabilitation and reintegration in custodial settings.
