Perch Bar is looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our growing kitchen team.

Our menu is built around wood-fired pizza, premium local produce and thoughtfully crafted dishes. We believe in cooking from scratch, respecting quality ingredients and creating a kitchen culture where people are proud of what they serve.
The Role
As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with our Head Chef to deliver consistently exceptional food while helping lead and develop the kitchen team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Leading service and supporting the team during busy periods
- Preparing and presenting high-quality dishes with consistency
- Coaching and mentoring junior chefs and apprentices
- Assisting with ordering, stock control and minimising waste
- Maintaining food safety, cleanliness and HACCP standards
- Contributing to seasonal menu development and new dish creation
- Ensuring a positive, organised and professional kitchen culture
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie ready to step up
- Is passionate about Italian cuisine & wood-fired cooking
- Takes pride in quality, presentation and consistency
- Leads by example with a calm, positive attitude
- Thrives in a fast-paced service environment
- Is organised, reliable and committed to continuous improvement
- Holds relevant food safety qualifications and full Australian working rights
