The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Manager - Projects and Compliance to provide a critical role within Security and Emergency Services Group, Security and Intelligence Division.
About the Business Unit
The Security and Emergency Services Group (SESG) provides proactive security services and incident and emergency response to the correctional system. SESG is responsible for providing immediate and longer-term support through its diverse portfolios such as emergency and incident response, High Security Escort of prisoners, state-wide training services, barrier control, search and K9 services and management of firearms.
About the Role
As Manager - Projects and Compliance, you'll lead the delivery of high-impact projects that strengthen governance, compliance and strategic outcomes across the SESG. A key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you'll drive strategic initiatives, oversee the SESG compliance framework and logistics portfolio, and provide expert advice on complex and emerging issues.
This is a dynamic leadership role where you'll manage multiple priorities, build strong stakeholder relationships, and influence organisational outcomes through strategic planning, governance and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will be primarily based at Metropolitan Remand Centre (Ravenhall) SESG, with the requirement to travel to other work locations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of complex projects, ensuring objectives, timelines and governance requirements are met.
- Providing high-level strategic advice, briefings and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Driving the implementation of SESG strategic priorities and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Overseeing the SESG compliance framework and logistics portfolio, including the management of critical assets and equipment.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About You
You'll be an experienced leader with the ability to manage complex projects, navigate a dynamic operating environment and deliver strategic outcomes. You will bring:
- Strong knowledge of SESG, State Training Group and Emergency Response Group operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading multiple complex projects and business-critical initiatives.
- An understanding of the Victorian political and corrections environment, and the issues shaping SESG operations.
- Advanced skills in preparing high-quality reports, briefings, presentations and other business documentation.
Qualifications/requirements
- A qualification in Project Management or similar is desirable.
- A full and current Victorian driver's licence or a minimum P2 driver's licence.
