Premium Cocktail Bar & Dining Venue | The Rocks
The Fox Hole is looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team.
This is an ideal role for a strong CDP who wants more responsibility, more input, and a genuine pathway into kitchen leadership. You'll work closely with venue management, contribute to menu development, and help shape food experiences that go far beyond standard restaurant service.
The Fox Hole isn't a typical venue. Alongside our dining menu, we deliver spirit tastings, five-course Discovery Dinners, weekend Gin & Tea experiences, private events and seasonal food and beverage experiences that attract guests from across Sydney.
We're looking for someone who enjoys both the craft of cooking and the broader guest experience. Someone who can run a section confidently, stay calm under pressure, and take pride in producing consistently excellent food.
For the right person, this role offers significant opportunity to grow into a more senior kitchen leadership position as the business continues to develop.
What You'll Be Doing
- Running a quiet service and running your section in a busy service
- Assisting with prep, ordering and stock management
- Maintaining high food quality and presentation standards
- Supporting the delivery of special events and tasting menus
- Working closely with the venue leadership team on menu ideas and food experiences
- Helping maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie in a quality-focused venue
- Strong service skills and attention to detail
- Calm and organised during busy periods
- A genuine interest in hospitality and guest experience
- Someone who enjoys contributing ideas and improving systems
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience)
Bonus Points For
- Experience with tasting menus, functions or event catering
- Food Safety Supervisor certification
- Interest in menu development and food innovation
- Experience working in premium hospitality venues
