Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements in accordance with accounting standards
- Manage daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and reconciliations
- Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports, and management reports
- Monitor construction project costs, supplier invoices, expenses, and budget performance
- Prepare BAS, GST reporting, payroll records, and assist with taxation compliance requirements
- Complete month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
- Review and analyse financial data to ensure accuracy and support business decisions
- Maintain compliance with Australian taxation legislation, accounting standards, and internal policies
- Liaise with external accountants, suppliers, contractors, and other business stakeholders
- Maintain accounting systems, financial records, and documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, reporting processes, and operational efficiency
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience working as an Accountant
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles, taxation, and compliance requirements
- Previous experience within the construction, property, or related industry will be highly regarded
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar platforms
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to prepare financial reports
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- CPA/CA qualification (or working towards completion) will be considered an advantage
