This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (MHAODS). The service covers a large geographical area that extends from Tully in the South, to Mossman in the North and westwards to Croydon. The majority of services are predominantly Cairns based however the expansive geography of the region allows for travel to areas which most people only dream of.
Cairns is nestled in a diverse ecological system, which makes it a great place to live. With rainforest and mountains meeting the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef. Cairns is picturesque and is blessed with warm weather all year round. Although classified as regional, Cairns still offers the trappings of a big city.
The international airport is minutes away from the CBD which buzzes with a multicultural vibe. There is an abundance of restaurants to suit all types and the lifestyle is relaxed and affordable. It is a fantastic location to raise children with several exemplary schools and various sporting organisations.There is a diverse range of activities to choose from on the weekends including diving, snorkelling, hiking, art galleries and live theatre. The Tablelands, Palm Cove, Port Douglas and the Daintree Rainforest are a short drive from Cairns.

About your opportunity:
In this position you will...
Manage a complex caseload, using evidence-based interventions and with increasingly independent clinical judgement and movement toward more complex clinical decision-making.
Undertake clinical governance activities, such as the development of clinical practices, procedures and guidelines that support the continuum of care.
Maintain quality clinical documentation and report writing skills to meet the requirements of Queensland Health, Evolve Therapeutic Services and external agencies.
Utilise advocacy and clinical skills, to contribute to and support high level professional standards and integrated service delivery that align with the strategic direction of the CHHHS Mental Health & AODS service.
