We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our friendly and growing general practice on a part-time casual basis to provide maternity leave cover for one of our nurses.
This position is available for a minimum of 6 months (from August 2026 to January 2027), with the possibility of extending up to 8 months (up to March 2027 at the latest).
The successful applicant will work 3 days per week – Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays – assisting our Practice Nurse and doctors with a variety of general nursing duties.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Health assessments
- Wound management
- ECG, Spirometry and ABI
- Treatment room management and stock control
- Immunisations and cold chain management
- Infection control
- Telephone and in-person triage
- Vaccination administration
- Assisting GPs and the Practice Nurse with general nursing duties
Essential requirements:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Current CPR certificate
- Current COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations
- Previous experience working in a General Practice
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience using Best Practice software will be highly regarded.
