This role requires a bubbly, calm, experience with compliance, strong communication, reliable, able to build relationship quickly with the participants and help them achieve their goals.
About the Participant
The participant is a young man who enjoys trains, gaming, sports, bike riding, community access, and spending time with his therapy dog. He responds best to support workers who prioritise trust, consistency, rapport building, and trauma-informed support approaches.
The successful support workers will understand the importance of:
- Building genuine rapport before placing demands
- Using calm, consistent, and respectful communication
- Supporting emotional regulation and community participation
- Working collaboratively within a Behaviour Support Framework
- Maintaining clear professional boundaries and detailed documentation
You will be supporting the participant across:
- Community access
- Daily living activities
- Emotional regulation
- Personal care
- Meal preparation
- Transport and appointments
- Skill development and independence building
- Active overnight support shifts
- Behaviour support implementation in line with the BSP
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting participants with complex behaviours
- Experience working within Behaviour Support Plans and trauma-informed frameworks
- Confidence working within 2:1 support environments
- Strong understanding of autism, emotional regulation, and behaviours of concern
- Excellent written communication and shift note documentation
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Full driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
- NDIS Orientation Module
- Medication competency (preferred)
- Physical capability to safely respond during escalations where required
Shift Availability
We are recruiting for:
- Day shifts
- Evening shifts
- Active overnight shifts
- Weekday and weekend availability
