We are looking for an experienced and passionate Café Cook & Barista to join our team at our well-established industrial café in Smithfield. Operating for over 25 years, we specialize in serving freshly made hot breakfasts, quality coffee, and delicious lunch options.
As a key team member, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch items, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. You will also be required to assist with coffee-making and general café duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch menu items, including grill and hot food.
- Operate kitchen equipment efficiently and safely.
- Maintain excellent stock control and ensure freshness of ingredients.
- Follow HACCP and food safety standards at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service and work collaboratively with the team.
- Assist in making quality barista-style coffee when required.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a café setting.
- Experience in breakfast and lunch service with a strong understanding of grill work.
- Barista experience is a plus, but training can be provided.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in food preparation.
- Positive attitude and ability to work under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings.
