The Opportunity
Looking for your next career move? Join Hunter New England Local Health District and become part of a supportive, experienced Medical Imaging team delivering high-quality care across the New England North West.
As a Radiographer Level 3 Grade 3 (Sonographer), you'll provide advanced ultrasound services across a broad range of examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular, paediatric and small parts imaging. Working alongside skilled Radiologists and multidisciplinary professionals, you'll provide expert clinical advice, produce high-quality imaging and reports, and play an important role in supporting patient care and clinical decision-making.
Based at Tamworth Hospital, you'll enjoy a diverse and rewarding caseload while participating in a 7-day rotating roster, including on-call responsibilities, and providing outreach services to satellite facilities across the region. You'll also mentor students and developing clinicians and contribute to service improvement initiatives, making a meaningful impact on regional healthcare.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have

Postgraduate qualifications in Medical Sonography with current ASAR accreditation.

Current AHPRA registration (or eligibility for registration) and a current NSW EPA Radiation Licence.

Demonstrated experience performing a broad range of ultrasound examinations, including paediatric imaging.

Excellent communication skills, sound clinical judgement, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

A strong commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care with a focus on clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements

Degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent.

Eligible for registration with Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority (AHPRA), hold/ current NSW EPA Radiation licence and ASAR accreditation

Post graduate qualification in Medical Sonography and registration with the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR)

Participate in the Rosters, overtime and on-call duties as required by the site, and which may change from time to time

- Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
