As part of our continued growth and commitment to service excellence, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Motor Mechanic (General) (ANZSCO Code: 321211) to join our automotive team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, test and repair faults in petrol engines, mechanical systems and related light vehicle components. Carry out scheduled servicing, logbook servicing, engine tune-ups, oil changes and preventative maintenance. Inspect, repair and replace worn or defective parts, including brakes, suspension, steering, transmission and cooling system components. Use diagnostic equipment, service manuals and manufacturer specifications to identify faults and repair requirements. Reassemble, test and adjust mechanical components to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently after repairs. Perform brake repairs, battery replacements, cooling system repairs and general light vehicle mechanical repairs. Prepare accurate job records, service notes, repair recommendations and parts requirements. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with workplace health and safety, customer care and industry requirements. Support mobile service work at customer sites, fleet/trade vehicles and other locations as required by the business.
Skills and Experience Required:
- AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent qualification. At least 1-year relevant full-time work experience as a motor mechanic or in a closely related light vehicle mechanical role. Strong knowledge of light vehicle servicing, diagnostics, brake systems, cooling systems, steering, suspension and general mechanical repairs. Ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret service manuals and manufacturer specifications. Current Australian driver’s licence, or ability to obtain one. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, safe work practices, customer communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
