About the role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of complex infrastructure and construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required scope and quality standards. Working across the full project lifecycle, you will manage project planning, procurement, delivery, governance, risk management, reporting and contract administration to achieve successful project outcomes.
The role works closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Queen Victoria Market management and traders, consultants, contractors, government agencies and internal Council teams. You will lead project working groups, coordinate project delivery activities, oversee financial performance and provide expert project management advice to support the successful delivery of the QVMRP.

About you
You are an experienced Senior Project Manager with a proven track record delivering complex infrastructure, construction or urban renewal projects from planning through to completion. You bring strong project leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, oversee consultants and contractors, and drive projects to successful outcomes while maintaining a focus on quality, budget and timelines.
Your expertise spans project governance, procurement, contract administration, risk management and financial oversight. You are confident navigating complex stakeholder environments and have demonstrated success building productive relationships with internal teams, government agencies, consultants, contractors and community stakeholders.
Highly organised and outcomes-focused, you combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to delivery. You are a strong communicator who can influence decision-making, provide sound project advice and effectively manage competing priorities within a fast-paced and high-profile program environment.
What your experience might look like
- Extensive experience in project management, including the development and delivery of high-value, complex projects within a large and diverse organisation with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to concurrently manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to stakeholder expectations.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders with competing priorities and expectations.
- Demonstrated understanding of project management methodologies, construction contracts and building industry practices, with the ability to effectively manage project risks, procurement and delivery outcomes.
