We're looking for one person to help build the biggest tutoring brand in the country. If you love marketing and making content the way people love sport, this is for you.
The Company. JDN stands for Journey Development Network, which is our core philosophy behind everything we do. We deliver 1:1 tutoring/mentorship across Sydney and Melbourne. Our differentiator is our people, the 'Network', in making sure every student is supported and assigned a mentor who understands them and their learning style. We're very good at tutoring. However, the part still wide open is content. That's where we're going to win. You'd build this engine with us, hands-on, from the ground up.
Here's Who You Are. You're obsessed with content, and you're exceptional at it. You live in this world. You understand hooks, pacing, retention, why the first seconds decide everything, and why one video gets a million views while a nearly identical one gets two hundred. You study what's working for the best creators out there, and you can reverse-engineer it - then make something better. You don't need a big personal following. You need the eye and the obsession.
You're a fast learner. You pick things up quickly, you adapt, and you get sharp at anything you put your mind to.
You're driven, and you take ownership. You don't wait to be told what to do; you see what needs doing and you do it. You're happy on your feet, out filming, not glued to a desk. If you're the kind of person who'd treat this like it's your own company, this is for you.
We're not looking for experience on paper. We're looking for someone who is genuinely brilliant at this and wants to prove it.
What You'd Do.
- Own the direction of our content: topics, hooks, formats, pacing, length and visuals - what we make and why
- Research and study relentlessly: what's working for the best creators and our competitors, what we can adapt and beat
- Script and shape videos that stop the scroll and hold attention
- Get out and film: with the founder, with our tutors, on campus and around Sydney or Melbourne
- Direct the edit: brief our editor, guide the cut, the pacing, and the hooks
- Run a simple testing system: track what works, kill what doesn't, double down on winners
- Help build and run our podcast, then chop it into short-form content
- Coordinate our creators, help them film, and quality-check their content before it goes live
- Stay on top of trends, news and what's going viral, and turn the right moments into content fast
You'll Need.
- To be based in Sydney (or Melbourne) and able to film in person.
- A deep, demonstrable understanding of content (particularly short-form) and why it works
- To be a fast learner who excels at everything they do.
- Drive, ownership, and the ability to run with things without being managed
- To be curious, organised, and have a passion for learning; you should always be asking questions and learning
- To be able to get around for shoots;
Nice To Have.
- A feel for the HSC/VCE world. What students stress about and what makes a parent say yes (a real plus as they're our audience)
- You already make your own content with a channel that's done well
- A feel for digital marketing: funnels, analytics, campaigns, what converts attention into customers
- Handy with basic tools (Canva, light editing, scheduling, project management tools 'ClickUp')
- Studying or studied marketing, media, comms or similar
The Deal.
This role starts part-time and flexible as an independent contractor. It begins with a trial period, and if it's working, it grows. We reward results: do great work, get rewarded. This is early-stage, and it's a real build: hard, fast, and a rare chance to own something from the beginning.

Send this to: [email protected] with the subject line "Social Media Producer – [Your Name]."
