Queensland Horticultural Services is seeking an experienced Landscape Maintenance Team Leader to join our Brisbane-based team.
This is a hands-on leadership role working across commercial, industrial, managed and some residential properties. You will lead a small crew, complete landscape maintenance work and ensure each site is serviced safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
The position is offered on a casual basis with consistent full-time hours for the right applicant.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a landscape maintenance crew
- Organise daily tasks, equipment and site requirements
- Operate commercial zero-turn mowers safely and efficiently
- Complete mowing, edging, hedging, pruning, weed control and general garden maintenance
- Monitor work quality, productivity and safety
- Train, guide and support team members
- Communicate site issues and additional work requirements to management
- Complete job reports and required documentation
- Maintain vehicles, trailers, machinery and tools
Essential Requirements
- Previous landscape or grounds maintenance experience
- Proven team leadership or crew supervision experience
- Strong commercial zero-turn mower experience
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Confidence towing and reversing trailers
- Good communication and time-management skills
- Reliable, punctual and physically capable of outdoor work
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and make sensible decisions on site
Desirable
- Certificate II or III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or a related field
- Chemical application licence or accreditation
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Experience working on commercial, industrial or body corporate sites
- Basic machinery maintenance knowledge
