We are seeking a versatile and motivated All-Rounder Chef to join our team. The successful candidate must be competent and proficient in managing both the sushi bar and the hot food sections, ensuring consistent food quality, speed, and high presentation standards across all dishes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sushi Section: Prepare and create a variety of sushi (including nigiri, sashimi, rolls, and fillings); manage fish prepping and sushi rice standards.
- Hot Kitchen Section: Prepare and cook a variety of traditional and modern Japanese hot dishes (e.g., ramen, donburi, bento items, tempura, etc.).
- Maintain accurate portion control, ingredient freshness, and minimize food waste.
- Ensure full compliance with kitchen safety, food handling protocols, and cleanliness standards.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain smooth and efficient service during peak hours.
Requirements:
- Experience & Skills: Proven experience in a Japanese kitchen, with demonstrated proficiency in both sushi making and hot kitchen operations.
- Language: Fluent in English to ensure clear and effective communication with team members and management.
- Attributes: Highly responsible, reliable, punctual, and capable of multi-tasking and switching between food stations efficiently.
- Availability: Flexible to work a roster that includes weekends and evening shifts.
