DP Jones & Co Memorials is seeking a Foundry Lead for our manufacturing operations based in Kyabram, VIC.

We're offering a relatively physical role as a Foundry Lead, working closely with our Foundry Manager & Foundry assistants to drive our cast bronze manufacturing.

We provide job training and support employees to achieve formal certificates (typically Cert 3 in Engineering-Fabrication, Cert 3 in Engineering - Casting and Moulding, or Cert 3 in Stonemasonry). First Aid, Forklift and Crane licences, other trade tickets supported.

ROLE SPECIFICS
DP Jones & Co Memorials is seeking an experienced skilled or semi-skilled FOUNDRY LEAD to work closely with our Foundry Manager, Assistants and Operations Director.
- Offered as a Full time role with a 3-month probationary period.
- A key role, tailored to the individual and working across our Metal division.
- Based at our Kyabram manufacturing location with potential for occasional off-site job activity.
- Able to work hours from 7.30 am onwards.
- All uniform, safety equipment and tools supplied
- You will be encouraged and supported to continue with your trade and skills development.
- Role starting grade is C11 per the Manufacturing Award and assuming Cert II level experience. Ideally looking for C6/C5 level starters. Grading will be adjusted for candidates with higher experience / skill levels.

Responsibilities (but not limited to):
PRIMARY
- Work closely with our Foundry Manager to assist and eventually lead key activities in the assembly and production of cast bronze & aluminium plaques.
- Participate in all aspects of Foundry cast plaque manufacturing process as you gain experience.
- Pattern creation
- Sand moulding and pre-melt preparation
- Metal casting
- Metal cutting, polishing, sandblasting, painting, etc
- Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to read plans / drawings / layouts is important.
- Labouring, lifting and some offsite work is involved
- Materials handling and general production duties
- A strong work ethic attention to detail, and pride in your workmanship.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all OHS requirements
Prior experience / Skills (favourable but not essential):
- Cert 2+ qualifications in Fabrication / Concreting / Stonemasonry or relevant experience highly regarded
- Experience in complimentary industries – Fabrication, Welding, Concreting, Tiling, Landscaping
- Ability to set and meet production timeline targets
- Display a work ethic suited to a heavy industry
- Experience in the safe use of power tools & hand tools.
- Experience with industrial machine operation advantageous (table saws, sanding belts, Linishers, milling machines, sandblasting, spray booth)
- Drivers licence, forklift licence and construction induction card advantageous
On the job guidance will be provided to the candidate with suitable base skills.
Pay: $32.00 – $36.00 per hour
