Village People Tasmania Pty Ltd (t/a ‘Dieselheat’) supplies, installs and develops a range of specialised diesel-powered hot water, air heating and cooking systems for boats, caravans, recreational vehicles, camping, and small residential spaces. Our company also provides significant technical support, servicing and maintenance.
Our headquarters in Cygnet, Tasmania (7112) is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineering Technician.
The salary offered is $79,423 per annum plus superannuation.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Assisting in product design and development of mechanical systems
· Preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work
· Assisting Mechanical Engineers and Technologists in design of equipment and plant
· Selecting the appropriate tools and equipment for each mechanical function
· Estimating parts and costs based on automation requirements
· Providing technical support to clients, including selecting equipment and components to meet client needs and goals
· Assembling and installing new modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls
· Performing and directing field product tests
· Collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams
· Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
· Ensuring designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
The candidate will be required to show the following skills and requirements:
· Relevant AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma
· Previous experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician (or similar position)
· Strong analytical and diagnostics skills
· Efficient with good attention to detail
· Ability to work unsupervised
