NTT Data are seeking an experienced Data Governance & Strategy Specialist to play a pivotal role in a high profile AI Uplift Program. This is a unique opportunity to shape how data is governed, structured, and leveraged enabling scalable, responsible AI adoption across a complex organisation.
- Initial 3 month contract
- Perth airport location – 4 days per week in office
This is a high impact, strategic role where you’ll establish strong data foundations, embed governance frameworks, and align data initiatives to unlock meaningful AI and analytics value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and deliver an enterprise data strategy aligned to AI and analytics outcomes
- Establish and operationalise data governance frameworks (policies, standards, ownership, controls)
- Improve data quality, metadata management, lineage, and accessibility across key data domains
- Ensure data readiness for AI use cases, partnering closely with data science and business teams
- Contribute to responsible AI governance, including data controls, transparency, and auditability
- Engage senior stakeholders to align data initiatives with business priorities and value outcomes
- Facilitate the definition of data domains, ownership, and stewardship models
Key Requirements:
- 10+ years in data governance, data strategy, or enterprise data management
- Proven track record supporting analytics or AI-enabled transformation programs
- Deep knowledge of:
- Data governance frameworks and operating models
- Data quality, metadata, and data cataloguing practices
- Modern data platforms (e.g. Azure, Fabric, Databricks, AWS)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
- A delivery-focused mindset—balancing best practice with real-world outcomes
- Background in mining, energy, utilities, or heavy industry environments
- Exposure to AI/ML programs or digital transformation initiatives
- Familiarity with frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM
- Experience with tools like Purview, Collibra, or Alation
