THE OPPORTUNITY
This role puts you offshore and in charge; leading ICON's construction team through multi-discipline brownfields scopes on live production facilities. It suits a supervisor who has run complex offshore campaigns before, knows how to manage a site under pressure, and doesn't need to be told twice what good looks like.
ABOUT ICON ENGINEERING
ICON Engineering has been delivering offshore oil and gas projects for over 25 years from its Perth base, with a project footprint spanning Australia, Southeast Asia, New Zealand, PNG, the UK, and North America. The company is privately owned, project-delivery focused, and built around a team of engineers and supervisors who have genuine depth in brownfields modifications, offshore construction, and facilities engineering. You won't get lost here; your work is visible, and so is the quality of it.
THE ROLE
You'll be the primary offshore representative for ICON on construction campaigns; accountable for the safe and efficient execution of multi-discipline construction and commissioning activities on offshore production facilities. Onshore, you'll contribute to constructability reviews, workpack development, and project planning, so you're across the scope before your boots hit the deck. The projects are brownfields modifications in nature: complex interfaces, live facility constraints, tight schedules, and real consequences if coordination breaks down. You'll work closely with the ICON Project Manager but own the site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and supervise ICON's offshore construction team across multi-discipline brownfields scopes on live offshore production facilities.
- Serve as the primary offshore focal point for ICON and client onshore/offshore teams; directing, coordinating, and holding accountability for all site construction operations.
- Implement and actively manage the Project HSE Management Plan, maintaining transparent safety reporting and a visible personal commitment to safe execution Manage SIMOPS interfaces and site change orders, maintaining clear communication with all interfacing parties throughout.
- Own the Permit to Work process for all ICON-related scopes on site Participate onshore in constructability reviews and contribute to workpack development prior to offshore mobilisation.
- Provide construction technical input and guidance to ICON project teams during planning and execution phases.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
- Trade qualification in a relevant discipline (Structural strongly preferred) and/or Diploma in Project Management or Construction Management.
- Demonstrated experience supervising offshore brownfields construction on live production facilities; including multi-discipline scope management.
- Proven track record managing SIMOPS interfaces, PTW processes, and offshore change management.
- Strong, active HSE focus; not just procedural compliance, but genuine site leadership on safety T-BOSIET current; MSIC held.
- Ability to work independently offshore while maintaining structured communication with the onshore project team.
Desirable:
- Structural trade background; highly valued given the nature of current and upcoming scopes Prior experience on Woodside-operated offshore facilities in WA First Aid certification current.
- Experience in workpack development and constructability review participation at the pre-execution stage.
WHY ICON
ICON's forward project pipeline in WA brownfields and offshore modifications is genuinely strong through 2026-2027, with P&A and decommissioning campaigns also accelerating significantly. This isn't a role where you're filling a bench, you'll be active on real scopes with real offshore time. The team around you has delivered projects at this level before, so you won't be the only experienced person in the room. For a supervisor who takes ownership seriously, ICON is a company where that quality gets noticed and rewarded.
