Senior Lead, Research and Analytics
- Salary: $116,413 - $140,849 (Plus Superannuation)

The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Tourism Policy and Research, the role has effective, persuasive writing and presentation skills, excellent interpersonal skills to support the delivery of the Victorian Government's visitor economy priorities, and works effectively as a member of a team in providing support across the branch.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
- Strong quantitative, economic and data interpretation skills with the ability to critically examine key issues and implications of research findings.
- Demonstrated ability to apply research outcomes to the development and evaluation of business planning, and identification of market opportunities, and industry and policy initiatives.
- Proven experience contributing to policy development and/or implementation in a State or Commonwealth public service setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively and motivate others to deliver critical and timely tourism research insights and policy advice, and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in the private and public sectors.
The Team
The position of Senior Lead, Research and Analytics forms a part of the Tourism, Events and Entities branch within the Sport and Experience Economy group.
Sport and Experience Economy (SEE) Group delivers programs and initiatives to support positive experiences and a sense of belonging through sport, tourism, events and outdoor recreation - sectors that make Victoria a recognised leader from the grassroots level to the international stage and deliver significant economic, social and health benefits for the state.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Data Literacy: Derives value from data sets to enable immediate and/or future decision making (predictive). Has expertise in formulation of basic data models or algorithms.
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Delivers tangible business outcomes as a result of critically evaluating problems from multiple perspectives and delivering effective solutions.
- Policy Design and Development: Considers impact of policy to strategic plans, community needs, complementing programs and policies across the service.
- A tertiary qualification in public policy, economics or another relevant field would be well regarded.
