As our operations continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Supply and Distribution Manager to lead our procurement, warehousing, inventory control and distribution functions, ensuring the efficient movement of products throughout our supply chain and maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
About the role
The Supply and Distribution Manager will be responsible for managing the procurement, warehousing, inventory, and distribution functions of the company. The role requires strong planning, analytical, and leadership skills to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods while maintaining quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan, coordinate and oversee the company's procurement, warehousing and distribution operations to ensure the efficient supply of Halal meat products to wholesale customers across Australia.
· Manage inventory levels of raw materials, packaging and finished products to maintain product availability, minimise waste and ensure effective stock rotation.
· Coordinate purchasing activities and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely procurement of materials and packaging.
· Plan and coordinate warehouse operations, dispatch activities and interstate distribution to ensure customer orders are delivered accurately and on time.
· Liaise with production, sales, warehouse and logistics teams to ensure manufacturing schedules align with customer demand and distribution requirements.
· Prepare inventory forecasts, purchasing plans and operational reports to support efficient supply chain planning and business decision-making.
· Monitor supplier performance, pricing, delivery schedules and product availability, and identify opportunities to improve procurement and supply chain efficiency.
· Ensure compliance with food safety standards, Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and company policies relating to the storage, handling and distribution of food products.
· Lead, supervise and support warehouse and distribution staff while promoting continuous improvement across supply chain operations.
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
· Proven experience in in supply chain, warehouse, logistics or distribution management, preferably within the food manufacturing, food processing, FMCG or wholesale food distribution industry.
· Relevant tertiary degree or equivalent (highly desirable)
· Strong understanding of inventory management, procurement and warehouse operations.
· Experience coordinating transport and distribution activities.
· Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
· High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in MYOB or comparable ERP/inventory management systems, as well as Microsoft Office
· Understanding of HACCP and food handling compliance (desirable)
· Ability to communicate in Turkish is desirable.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
