Located on Sydney’s North Shore, Mercure St Leonards offers boutique-style hotel accommodation with modern amenities. The hotel is conveniently located, walking distance to public transport (St Leonards train station and Crows Nest metro station) providing easy access to Sydney city centre.
We are seeking a warm and welcoming Duty Manager with a passion for customer service and a commitment to creating memorable experiences for our guests. The position requires full-time hours on a rotating roster, Monday to Sunday (7am–3pm and 3pm–11pm).
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Duty Manager position includes the following duties and responsibilities:
- Greet guests on arrival and provide a warm, professional welcome.
- Manage guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
- Handle guest complaints and respond promptly to all guest enquiries.
- Process guest payments and maintain accurate guest accounts.
- Answer phone calls and respond to email enquiries in a timely manner.
- Take and enter reservations accurately.
- Conduct regular inventory checks.
- Liaise with other departments, including the Food and Beverage and Housekeeping teams, to coordinate group bookings and ensure a seamless guest experience.
The successful applicant:
- Mastery of Opera Cloud is preferred.
- 2 years experience as a Hotel Duty Manager or Guest Service Agent is required.
- Experience in managing complaints
- High attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure
- A very strong focus on customer service, good use of initiative, excellent communication skills and a high level of personal grooming and presentation.
- Availability on weekends is a must.
- Available to work on a rotating roster 7am to 3pm and 3pm to 11pm
