Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for a Social Worker to join our growing team on a part time (20 hours per week), fixed term basis (6 months).
About the Role
The Agnes Unit at Latrobe Regional Health is a 5 bed, 5-6 cot residential unit open for families in the Gippsland region. Mothers and/or fathers will be admitted with infants up to 12 months of age. The model of care of the unit has a strong family/infant relationship focus. The therapeutic approach is based on the Solihul model, attachment theory and mentalisation.
The Social Worker will be responsible for:

Providing high therapeutic interventions to the perinatal clients, their infants and their families.

Enhancing total client care by providing an ethical, accountable, client focused therapeutic care A

Assessing patients, planning and implementing appropriate interventions

Attending and actively participating in patient reviews and family meetings

Effectively plan and monitor discharge and community reintegration
-
Liaise and communicate with community agencies and groups to ensure patient needs are met

Conducting direct mental health duties such as assessment, formulation, MSE, risk and safety assessments.

About you

Bachelor Degree in Social Work or Qualifying Masters in Social Work

Well developed understanding of the specialist areas of practice relating to family mental health, peri-natal mental health and clinical mental health care.

Demonstrated experience of working with families in the perinatal period who have experienced Impaired Attachment Relationships, Mental Illness, Drug and Alcohol problems, Domestic Violence and Childhood trauma

Experience in treatment interventions appropriate to perinatal depression and other mental health disorders.

Experience in facilitating therapeutic groups and individual therapy
