About the role
The Specialist Advisor Target Qualifications – Teaching and Learning is responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of inclusive teaching, learning and assessment practices that improve engagement, progression and completion for learners experiencing intersectional disadvantage within Target Qualifications.
The role works in close partnership with the Education Delivery teams to redesign curriculum, delivery approaches and assessment practices to better support diverse learner needs – this includes strengthening educator capability, integrating evidence-based teaching strategies and ensuring qualifications are designed to enable learner success from commencement through to completion.
About You
As the Specialist Advisor Target Qualifications – Teaching and Learning, you are an experienced and values-driven education professional with a strong understanding of contemporary teaching practices, including diversity, equity and inclusion and trauma-informed approaches. You bring proven experience supporting learners facing intersectional disadvantage and are confident in designing and implementing initiatives that improve engagement, success and retention.
You are a strong communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholders, and you thrive in complex environments where sound judgement and autonomous decision-making are essential. Your analytical and problem-solving skills enable you to interpret data, identify trends and develop innovative, practical responses to emerging learner needs.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Education.
- Extensive senior-level experience in curriculum design, inclusive education, learner success, educational leadership or a related field.
- Extensive experience exceeding 5 years working in Secondary School and/or Vocational Education and Training sector is required.
- Experience directly working in roles providing specialist advice in teaching practice.
- Experience collaborating with community-based support services within the Gippsland region is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex initiatives, projects or organisational improvement activities that improve learner participation, progression and completion outcomes.
Mandatory requirements
- Current Drivers Licence as travel will be required
- Valid Working with Children Clearance (WWC)
- Current (less than 12 months old, and renewable every 5 years) satisfactory National Police Check
