About the role
This is a part-time (35 hours per fortnight), fixed term role to Friday 6 August 2027 in the Development Services team, based at Moruya. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advice and undertaking assessment on planning and regulatory matters to ensure compliance with council policies and statutory requirements in the protection, preservation and enhancement of the natural and built environment.
The starting salary for this position is $48.33 per hour, plus 12% superannuation.

About you
You hold qualifications in town planning, environmental planning, or an equivalent discipline, with a strong understanding of planning principles and legislation. You bring excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen, interpret and deliver information clearly and accurately to a wide range of stakeholders. Confident in using Microsoft Office and GIS mapping systems, you combine technical expertise with a practical, customer-focused approach. You have a proven track record in negotiation, mediation and problem-solving, enabling you to achieve positive outcomes in complex situations. Most importantly, you thrive on building positive relationships and delivering exceptional customer service, contributing to a responsive and professional Development Services team. Pre‑employment Checks:
As part of our recruitment process, you may be asked to provide contact details for two work‑related referees. These will be collected at the interview stage. At least one referee should be your current supervisor or a recent past supervisor (of at least three months).
