About the role
As a Disability Support Worker at Asayish Comfort Care, you will be vital in providing compassionate and personalised care to individuals with disabilities in the ACT region .
This position offers the flexibility to balance your work and personal life while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those you support.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting participants with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
- Supporting participants with complex and/or challenging needs
- Accompanying participants to appointments, social events, and community activities to promote independence and social engagement
- Providing emotional support and companionship to participants, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing
- Collaborating with the care team to develop and implement individualized support plans
- Preform catheter care and assist with hoisting as required ( if Applies to your shift)
- Implementing behavior support plans
- Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements to ensure the highest standards of care What we're looking for
- A compassionate and patient approach to working with individuals with diverse needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with participants and their families
- A commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life for the individuals in your care
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Current working with children's check
- NDIS worker screening check
- Current first aid and CPR certifications
