About the Role
As a Field Mechanic at Savanna Energy, you’ll provide hands-on mechanical support across our rigs, camps, and maintenance teams. You’ll inspect, maintain, and repair equipment to ensure it runs safely and reliably. This is a great role for someone with a mechanical trade qualification who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, and being part of a hands-on, safety-focused team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily mechanical maintenance and repairs on rig and camp equipment
- Operate tools and equipment safely, following company and client procedures
- Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance, documenting all work
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Inspect, service, and repair machinery to maintain reliable performance
- Maintain tools, spare parts, and workshop or field inventory
- Follow all legislative, licensing, and company safety requirements
- Update the preventative maintenance system daily
- Assist with any additional duties as directed by your supervisor
About You:
- Qualified Mechanic with practical field experience (highly regarded)
- Previous experience in the oil and gas industry (highly regarded)
- Comfortable working outdoors and in remote locations
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Able to follow instructions, work safely, and pay attention to detail
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety and quality assurance
- Current C class drivers licence, HR driver’s licence (highly regarded)
- Experience with CMMS or willingness to learn
