Opportunity in a nutshell
This isn’t a standard site role. This is your chance to play a
pivotal leadership role on complex, high‑profile automation projects that demand precision, accountability and calm authority.
Daifuku Oceania is a global powerhouse in automation and material handling solutions. With major projects underway across
Perth, we’re investing in our site leadership capability and are seeking an experienced
Site Manager / Senior Supervisor who thrives in technically complex, safety‑critical environments.
If you love being close to action, leading subcontractors, coordinating machinery and keeping safety front and Centre, this is the role for you!
Your Impact
Reporting to the Regional Project Director and operating as the
trusted 2IC to the Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of on‑site execution, turning plans into progress and challenges into solutions.
You will be the
on‑site authority, the connector between trades, engineers, subcontractors and clients; the person who sets the tone for safety, quality and performance.
What You will Be Doing
- Lead day‑to‑day site operations across complex automation installation
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors across multiple work fronts
- Own WHSE on site; safety plans, risk registers, SWMS and compliance
- Track progress against schedule and clearly communicate production rates
- Support commercial outcomes including budgets, progress claims and variations
- Interpret and work confidently from detailed mechanical & electrical drawings
- Drive QA, testing, commissioning and on‑site troubleshooting
- Represent Daifuku at site and coordination meetings professionally and confidently
- Plan and coordinate machinery, conveyors, services and equipment positioning
- Support reporting, change control, SAT and project handover
- Step up during commissioning and go‑live with flexible hours when required
This is a
hands‑on leadership role for someone who enjoys being where the work happens.
What You will Bring: Essential (non-negotiable)
- Trade or tertiary qualification in Electrical or Mechanical discipline
- Proven experience leading site activities on industrial, automation or installation projects
- Strong background managing subcontractors in live, operational environments
- High attention to safety: “think safe, act safe, home safe”
- Excellent planning, coordination and time‑management skills
- Clear, confident communication at all levels
- Ability to read and work from complex design documentation
- Solid technical understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Comfortable working in secure, high‑compliance sites (e.g. airports)
Added Advantage – not critical
- Experience with airport baggage handling systems, logistics automation or conveyors
- Safety qualifications (e.g. Cert IV WHS)
- Commissioning or go‑live experience in fast‑paced environments
Who Thrives in This Role: You’ll succeed here if you are
- Hands‑on and proactive where you solve problems before they escalate
- Calm under pressure; commissioning is busy, and you lead with clarity
- Respected on site; being firm, fair and collaborative
- Detail‑driven; without losing sight of the bigger picture
- Customer‑focused where you proudly represent the Daifuku brand
- Motivated by complex, high‑impact, high‑security projects
