About Ren Salon
Ren Salon is a quiet boutique salon on Oxford Street, Paddington, specialising in considered hair work — from Russian hair extensions and colour to advanced smoothing and restoration treatments.
We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
Every treatment begins with the hair in front of us: its history, condition, texture, and what the client actually wants from it. From there, we recommend the right protocol and create a clear plan for the result.
We're growing our treatment offering and are looking for an experienced Nanoplasty & Hair Smoothing Specialist to join Ren.
About the Role
This is a specialist position for someone confident working with advanced smoothing, straightening and restorative hair treatments.
You'll work with clients from consultation through to treatment and aftercare, helping them understand what their hair needs and recommending the most appropriate protocol.
Our treatment menu includes:
- Nanoplasty
- Nanoplasty for blonde and colour-treated hair
- Anti-frizz and smoothing treatments
- Hair restoration and repair protocols
- Deep conditioning and bond-building treatments
Appointments are intentionally unhurried, with some services running between two and a half and six hours, depending on the client's hair length, density, condition and treatment protocol.
This isn't a high-volume, rush-through-the-day role.
We're looking for someone who understands that the consultation and assessment are just as important as the treatment itself.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be responsible for:
- Conducting thorough hair consultations
- Assessing hair history, condition and suitability for treatment
- Recommending the appropriate smoothing or restoration protocol
- Performing nanoplasty and advanced smoothing treatments
- Working confidently with blonde, coloured and chemically processed hair
- Managing treatment timing, processing and application carefully
- Providing clear aftercare advice and maintenance recommendations
- Creating a calm, comfortable experience for clients during longer appointments
- Maintaining a clean and professional treatment area
- Keeping accurate client notes and treatment history
- Supporting the growth of Ren's treatment offering
- Contributing to salon content and before-and-after transformations where appropriate
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is genuinely experienced in smoothing and hair transformation work.
You should be:
- Experienced with nanoplasty or similar professional straightening and smoothing systems
- Confident assessing hair condition before performing chemical treatments
- Comfortable working with blonde, coloured and previously processed hair
- Knowledgeable about processing times, product application and treatment suitability
- Able to recognise when a treatment should not be performed
- Confident explaining realistic outcomes and aftercare to clients
- Highly detail-oriented
- Calm and patient during long appointments
- Professional and confident in client consultations
- Comfortable working independently
- Passionate about healthy hair, not just the immediate result
Highly Regarded
Experience with any of the following will be highly regarded:
- Professional nanoplasty systems
- Blonde-safe or colour-safe smoothing treatments
- Keratin or anti-frizz treatments
- Hair botox or restorative treatments
- Bond-building and repair protocols
- Working with damaged or heavily processed hair
- Luxury salon environments
- Long-form client consultations
- Creating before-and-after hair content
- Building and maintaining a returning client base
Formal training or certification in nanoplasty or professional smoothing systems is highly regarded.

The Ren Approach
At Ren, a client doesn't simply book a treatment and hope for the best.

We look at their hair history, condition and goals. We decide what their hair can tolerate and what result is realistically achievable.
Then we recommend the right protocol.
Sometimes that means nanoplasty. Sometimes it means a softer smoothing treatment. Sometimes the hair needs restoration before any further chemistry.
