Volvo Group Australia is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Director Real Estate to lead our property and facilities portfolio across Australia.
Reporting to the CFO, Volvo Group Australia, this senior leadership role is responsible for setting and delivering our Real Estate strategy and ensuring our property portfolio supports the current and future needs of our business. With responsibility across industrial, office and retail environments, you will oversee strategic asset management, property transactions, major projects, facilities management and investment planning.
As a key advisor to the Country Management Team, you will work closely with leaders across Volvo Group Australia, our global Real Estate organisation and external partners to deliver safe, sustainable, efficient and future-focused property solutions.
What you will do

Lead the development and execution of Volvo Group Australia's Real Estate strategy and property portfolio planning.

Develop and maintain Site Master Plans aligned with local business requirements and broader Volvo Group strategy.

Lead property acquisitions, leasing, divestments and own-versus-lease evaluations.

Oversee major design, construction, renovation and property investment projects from planning through to completion.

Lead property and facilities management across Volvo Group Australia's sites, including maintenance, compliance and essential facility services.

Manage significant operating and investment budgets, ensuring strong financial governance, forecasting and cost control.

Establish effective supplier partnerships and drive performance through clear KPIs, commercial discipline and continuous improvement.

Ensure our properties meet relevant legal, safety, operational and sustainability requirements.

Partner with business leaders to understand evolving operational requirements and translate these into effective real estate solutions.

Lead, coach and develop the Real Estate team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

Work closely with Volvo Group's global Real Estate Centre of Expertise to leverage Group standards, capability and best practice.
You are an experienced senior property or facilities leader who can balance long-term portfolio strategy with the operational realities of managing a diverse property footprint.
You will bring:

Extensive senior leadership experience across real estate, facilities management or a related operational environment.

Demonstrated experience managing a complex property portfolio, ideally spanning industrial, commercial and retail environments.

Strong capability across property strategy, leasing and transactions, facilities management and major capital projects.

Proven experience managing complex budgets, investment planning, forecasting and commercial performance.

Strong commercial capability across contract negotiations, supplier management and service delivery.

Experience operating within a complex, global or matrix organisation and influencing senior stakeholders.

A strong understanding of property compliance, risk, sustainability and emerging real estate practices.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams and build strong relationships across functions, regions and external partners.

A strategic and commercially focused mindset, combined with the ability to translate strategy into practical outcomes.

Experience within automotive, commercial vehicles, manufacturing or another asset-intensive environment would be advantageous.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, real estate, facilities management or a related discipline are desirable, with relevant professional certifications also highly regarded.
