Join our team as an Early Careers Adviser
Make a meaningful impact on the future workforce of Redland City Council by delivering career pathway programs that create opportunities for emerging talent. Reporting directly to the Service Manager People Development, in this role you will partner with leaders and key stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives aligned with our People Strategy, supporting trainees, apprentices, graduates and work experience participants to achieve positive learning and development outcomes. Combining strategic thinking with practical support, you will help connect diverse talent with meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities, fostering capability, inclusion and long-term workforce success across the organisation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead & deliver Council’s early careers programs, including graduate, traineeship, apprenticeship and work experience initiatives, ensuring they remain aligned to workforce priorities, talent attraction objectives and diversity and inclusion strategies.
- Partner with leaders, supervisors and external education providers to identify opportunities, recruit high-quality candidates, and provide expert advice and support throughout the participant lifecycle.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with universities, schools, training providers and community stakeholders to promote Council as an employer of choice and strengthen talent pipelines for future workforce needs.
- Design, implement and continuously improve career pathway programs, creating meaningful development opportunities and clear pathways from work experience through to sustainable employment and further education.
- Promote Council’s employment programs through targeted marketing, communications and participation in career expos and engagement activities, enhancing awareness and attraction of diverse talent.
- Manage program governance, budgets, procurement, reporting and performance outcomes, while providing leadership, mentoring and guidance to supervisors and participants to ensure a positive and successful program experience.
Skills and experience:
- Experience managing graduate, trainee and apprenticeship programs that support workforce needs and business outcomes.
- Proven ability to build strong partnerships with leaders, training providers and other key stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving and leadership skills.
- Experience developing career pathways and talent strategies that support attraction, retention and diversity goals.
- Strong procurement, contract management and budget management experience.
- Well-developed project management, planning and reporting skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Eligibility:
- You'll hold a current C Class driver’s licence
- You'll hold, or be able to obtain prior to commencement, a Paid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Tertiary qualifications relating to the design and delivery of training and development programs are desirable.
