Your first two years in digital marketing will shape the next ten.
Where you start matters. The agency you learn in, how they run accounts, how they treat clients, how they develop their people, becomes the baseline for everything that comes after.
Most junior roles either bury you in busywork with no visibility or throw you into client management before you're ready.
This one sets the runway for your career.
The opportunity
An award-winning independent digital agency in Sydney (APAC's Most Innovative Digital Marketing Agency, Local Business Awards Winner) is looking for a Digital Account Executive to join the team. Senior-led, collaborative, and small enough that your work is visible from day one.
The agency works across SEO, Paid Search, Paid Social, Organic Social, Content, Email, and CRM for clients in finance, healthcare, eCommerce, fashion, and B2B. Clients who stick around because the work delivers.
This is a role with real responsibility from day one, and a structured path to Senior Account Executive and Account Manager as you grow. If you're early in your career and want to build in an environment that takes development seriously, this is the right place to do it.
The role:
You'll be supporting Account Managers across multiple client accounts, which means you're the person who makes sure things actually happen. That requires attention to detail, strong communication, and genuine pride in doing the unglamorous work well.
Day to day, you'll be:
- Building relationships with clients as their reliable day-to-day contact
- Coordinating deliverables across SEO, Paid Search, Paid Social, Content, and CRM specialist teams
- Preparing monthly reports and presentation decks (and making sure they actually make sense)
- Running client WIP meetings and status calls where appropriate
- Writing clear internal briefs so specialists know exactly what's needed
- Reviewing work before it goes to clients, quality control is part of your job
- Managing timelines, priorities, and workflows across multiple accounts simultaneously
- Keeping internal systems and client documentation accurate and up to date
- Spotting issues early and flagging them before they become problems
What we need:
- Experience: Up to 2 years in an account management, client services, or digital marketing role. Agency experience is a plus, but not essential if you bring the right mindset.
- Digital marketing knowledge: You understand how Google Ads, Meta, SEO, and Organic Social work
- Communication: Clear communicator, confident on calls and in meetings. You enjoy speaking with people and building genuine relationships.
- Attention to detail: Managing reports, briefs, meeting notes, and timelines, and enjoy taking this as a challenge.
- Commercially aware: You understand that campaigns exist to drive business outcomes.
What you get:
- 9-day fortnight with an early Friday finish every week, that's 26 extra days off per year on top of annual leave
- Hybrid working with 2/3 days WFH
- Birthday leave
- Ongoing training and professional development
- Real career progression: Executive → Senior Executive → Account Manager
- Remuneration package - up to $70K+Super DoE
The leadership team genuinely invests in the people they hire. This is a boutique agency where your development is noticed and supported, not a holding company where junior staff disappear into a department of 40.
Where this takes you:
The Account Managers at this agency came up exactly this way, learning how campaigns are built, how clients are managed, and what separates good agencies from average ones. That foundation is what makes them good at what they do now.
In 12-18 months, you'll have exposure across every major digital channel, direct client relationships under your belt, and a clear understanding of how integrated campaigns actually work from the inside. That's the kind of experience that accelerates a career, not just fills a CV.
The leadership team is genuinely invested in your progression. Small team means you're not invisible. Your development gets noticed, supported, and acted on.
If this feels right, send your CV and a short note about where you're at in your career and what you're looking for next.
Are you 60-70% fit? Apply anyway. Let's have a conversation.
