Systems Administrator (Job Description)
We are seeking a Systems Administrator to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise systems and infrastructure. You will ensure reliable operations, monitor performance, and support internal customers with timely resolution of issues.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and system software.
- Manage Active Directory/identity services, including user/group provisioning and access reviews.
- Perform system monitoring, alert triage, and troubleshooting to maintain high availability.
- Administer network services (DNS, DHCP, routing/VLANs) and validate end-to-end connectivity.
- Manage backup and restore operations; verify backup integrity and recovery procedures.
- Apply patching, updates, and security hardening in accordance with change management policies.
- Support virtualization and infrastructure platforms (e.g., VMware/Hyper-V) as assigned.
- Manage file systems and permissions (e.g., NTFS), and ensure least-privilege access.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and runbooks.
- Participate in on-call/on-rotation support and respond to incidents within defined SLA targets.
- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to plan and implement improvements and upgrades.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience** in systems administration or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server (or equivalent) including AD, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange/Teams/Entra or similar) preferred.
- Hands-on experience with backup tools and disaster recovery concepts.
- Proficiency with troubleshooting (event logs, performance metrics, network diagnostics).
- Working knowledge of security best practices (hardening, access controls, patch cadence).
- Familiarity with virtualization and infrastructure management tools.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users.
Skills (Preferred)
- PowerShell and/or automation scripting
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Datadog, Splunk)
- Ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) and change management
- Cloud exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus
