Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver engaging online group lessons covering writing, comprehension, verbal reasoning, and thinking skills to groups of students in Years 2-6.
2. Teach according to the specific educational needs, abilities, and academic achievement of the students.
3. Assign and correct writing homework online, providing constructive feedback.
Required Skills and Experience
Essential Requirement: Firsthand Experience in the Australian School System
To successfully guide young students through highly competitive local entrance exams, you must have completed your secondary schooling in Australia and personally experienced the local curriculum (e.g., VCE, HSC, IB, or equivalent). Please note: Applications without a local Australian high school background will not be considered for this specific role.
1) An excellent understanding of the Australian primary competitive exam landscape, including OC Class placement, Selective School Tests, and Scholarship Tests.
2) A minimum of 1 year of working as a teacher or tutor in English.
3) Native English proficiency with demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
4) Strong classroom strategies, including behavioural management and lesson delivery based on provided materials.
5) Excellent collaborative skills, including the ability to work effectively with parents, students, and colleagues.
6) A passion for teaching and a responsible team player.
7) Must hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
Desirable Criteria
1) A qualified teacher OR currently working towards a relevant teaching qualification in primary/secondary education.
2) Certificate III / IV in Education Support OR a Bachelor's/Higher degree in English or a related field.
